The Post Mountain Fire Department is working with Flowra on a project to cut down and replant the area burned by the 2015 Blue Fire. Our goal is to provide these services to private landowners at no cost.

In 2015, the Blue Fire burned across 350 acres of land in Post Mountain, leaving thousands of standing dead trees in its path. These dead trees continue to be an eyesore and a hazard to the residents of Post Mountain. Further, the native forest within the area has been replaced by brush, which increases the fire risk and keeps the forest from regrowing.

We are looking for landowners affected by the Blue Fire who are willing to join us in applying for grant funding. We are not looking for money, just a willingness to grow a forest on your properties and to participate in the grant program.
